"Yondard" centers around a sub-terranian species called "Yondards". The rag-tag group of protagonists are led by a prince who narrowly escaped the takeover of his kingdom. As he gathers allies and generally tries to figure out what he could do, the group adventures to other areas. Despite the takeover of his kingdom, however, the leader does not know why, and even just chalking it up to just a takeover would be incorrect. The main protagonist group is comprised of:

• Taiga: The aforementioned leader of the group (although he's the self appointed leader).
• Rahtinah: Taiga's first ally and is looking for her master/father figure who abandoned her suddenly.
• Mertens: A Yondard partially composed of mechanical parts, she gathers information for her 'friend' back 'home'.
• Kolruu: A Semi-pacifist and pilot of Fennia, dealing with his own personal issues and secrets.
• Fennia: A "Autyon" who feigns being amnesiac to avoid revealing that she used to be a human.
